IT IS SAID THAT A PICTURE PAINTS A THOUSAND WORDS; IF THAT IS TRUE, THEN I HOPE THESE PICTURES PAINT ONE THOUSAND AND ONE!
Today I left in the dark just before sunrise. I made it to the top of O’Cebriero – my last large mountain to climb. I did it in a flash and arrived at noon for the night.
It was purely magical. I listened to NO music en route. I walked alone ( by choice allowing friendly pilgrims to pass me by). I caught with them for lunch later, as they understood my need for a walk alone. I listened to only the following;
- the babbling of the cold mountain brook as it passed me by 90% of the way.
- the rustling of the leaves in the wind.
- the roosters crowing all morning long.
- the cow bells ringing as the cows grazed on the slopes.
- the wind blowing.
- the birds chirping.
I walked in peace and tranquility. It was serene. I am not certain I have ever felt such peace in my soul before. The Camino is always giving us something. I know now when to recognize it.
O’Cebriero is a really unique place. There are whispers of sunshine among mist, clouds, and very cool winds. Any one scene changes its looks within minutes. MAGICAL!!!!!!!
I am off to share a beer with Alexander and some others (We met Alexander in Ages. He is from Amsterdam).
After that, my time to enjoy getting here early.
TODAY I GIVE YOU NO MORE WORDS. My gift to you are the photos I took while walking.
These photos are in the exact order that I took them.
There are too many for 1 Post. I will post Part 2 : A View From the Top tomorrow.
PART ONE: Trabedelo to La Laguna
This is one of my favourite photos. I call id “End of Cycle”
I was starting my morning climb up the mountain and then I saw this abandoned doorway with this washing machine in it!
KEEP WALKING!
