I THINK I FOUND the GOLDEN FLEECE without Jason or the Argonauts! – It is worth a FORTUNE!
One thing I have learned from MANY sources about walking The Camino is; What to Bring With You?
Everything should weigh as little as possible. Clothing should be kept to a minimum as handwashing will be done daily. I have gone to many outdoor stores to get all my equipment. I am bringing the bare minimum and price wise, all has been good so far. Why is Merino Wool underwear so expensive?
Since you carry all your belonging in a backpack, clothing is limited and must be practical. Merino Wool is the top choice as it dries easily, wicks moisture away from the body, hand washes easily, is light weight , and DOES NOT smell or absorb sweat. Â IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE!!! Â Why is that?
The answer may lie in the ancient story of Jason and the Argonauts and their Quest for the Golden Fleece.
This is a “BRIEF” Synopsis of that story:
Jason shows up in his hometown of Iolcus with a game-plan: regain the throne stolen from his father by his uncle Pelias. King Pelias says he’s down to give up the throne… so long as Jason brings him the Golden Fleece. Which is held in the far away land of Colchis, a.k.a not something you can just pick up at the local Costco. Jason accepts the quest anyway and assembles the most star-studded team of heroes Greece has ever seen to go on the quest with him aboard the magical ship, the Argo.
I just found the 2015 version of the Golden Fleece at the “Ice Breaker” store at the Outlet Mall!!!
YES!! The fleece is held captive there and every-time they weave Merino Wool into a garment, it has part of the Golden Fleece in it ! How do I know this you ask?
I bought a pair of 100% Merino Wool underwear at Ice Breaker. Take a look!
LOOK CLOSELY AT THE PRICE TAG!
I had to take a few days break from training as I have a mild knee injury but after a Synvisc injection from Dr. Galea’s clinic, I will be good to go and train tomorrow!
