What is With People’s Carry-On Luggage and Pre-Boarding?
NO, SERIOUSLY? WTF is with ALL this Carry-On Luggage?
I will be kind in this post but I have to rant a bit!
RANT # 1:
Way Too Much Carry-On Luggage
I boarded my AA flight home to Toronto today. I had seat 2D and was the 3rd person on Board. Both overhead bins on either side of me were full when I boarded ! How is that even possible? Ask the 2 people in front of me who took all the space ! WTF?
They both had 2 wheeled carry on bags, another huge bag each, and SEVERAL smaller bags! Hey if you can afford to fly business, pay to check your bags!
The flight attendant told me to check my 1 carry on, or put my bag in the back! I had no seat in front of me to place my bag under. I was a big angry over that comment, but kindness is kindness, right?
Now being the kind man I am, I gently reminded her and the 2 idiots who took all the room that the rules state, 1 carry on and 1 personal item ONLY! Hmmm got you there! So, I KINDLY said; ” now which if your multiple items that go beyond policy will you check for free so that my 1 bag can fit?”.
THEY WERE SO MAD!! LMAO, LOL! I was Camino Kind!
I got space, placed my bag in the overhead bin and they moved their extra items to the back!
Policy is policy, but honestly folks just follow the rules!
RANT # 2:
Boarding with Assistance
I firmly believe that if you need a wheelchair or can’t walk and need help, go for it! I will even help you !
The 2 people with more luggage than Queen Elizabeth in front of me, both were transported to the gate by a vehicle, as they could not walk too well. I have several guesses as to why they can’t walk well, but that is another post! Several others jumped up when pre boarding began and those needing assistance were asked to board first..
WHY IS IT THAT THEY WERE ALL ABLE TO RUSH IN LINE AND BE the FIRST WALK PERFECTLY FINE TO BOARD THE PLANE?
I am just saying! I was unaware there was a spiritual healing somewhere in the terminal that allowed to walk perfectly fine once you were brought to the gate!
Keep Walking!
Thanks Dan! I trust that your flight home was safe and direct and that the visit was great. I liked how you used kindness in this tough situation. I used kindness the other day when I had to spend four hours playing golf behind people who should have had assistance in walking and driving their cart.
I can see it all now! That’s probably why I can’t get Jim on a plane anymore.
Dan, I have finally settled down a little and found time to read your blogs. I cannot tell you how happy I am that you came down to the “panhandle” to visit me, my family and my friends. We all enjoyed the time we shared with you. Return anytime. As soon as I figure out the date for next year’s pig roast, I will let you know. I feel confident we will be cooking paella again. Keeping me fingers crossed that you can work another Camino into your schedule this year?
