Some Days You Have to Do What is Right for You.

  It is My Camino

August 31, 2015 – Day 9

I decided to not walk yesterday due to the fact that I had a really sore bone in my ankle and my knee just ached. It is feeling better and I walked almost 20 Km today. I am tired, cranky, lacking sleep, and sore all over! TYPICAL FOR THE CAMINO apparently.

I took the bus from Estella to Los Arcos. There were so many things that I really wanted to see on that route. One of them was the wine and water tap side-by-side. You could fill your water bottle with wine or water!

My friends took a picture of it for me and you can see that on my Instagram post from yesterday.
There are a lot of people who think you’re not doing the Camino unless you walk every single kilometer the total distance of 800 but that’s not the case. Technically, you only have to walk the last hundred Km. I’ve decided to do it at my own speed on my own pace and sometimes a rest day is REALLY NECESSARY.

Los Arcos was a beautiful town with a very ornate church, Santa Maria.

  1. Good idea to take care of you aches and pains. You are still my
” hero” whether or not you do the entire 800 km. Your photos are amazing…you have a career in photography when you finish your walk. Keep well!
