Departing for Home and Looking Forward to Coming Back!

TIME TO HEAD HOME!

I am sitting in the airport in Paris  awaiting my flight. I have lots of time to think about my journey!

Paris was amazing! There is SO MUCH beauty and history here! I see why people love it!

Paris was a great place to have a holiday in for four days after the extreme work I did in hiking across Spain.

My hiking journey this year allowed me to walk all the portions that I missed the first time and to openly reflect upon everything all over again.

I miss the hiking already, but I’m not going to miss wearing the same clothes for 35 days, carrying  a backpack,and sleeping in hostels and other accommodations.  I can’t wait to get into my own bed later tonight.

My physical journey may be over,  but as the Camino provides for you, my mental journey has probably just begun.  You can’t do this without changing somehow in someway because it’s just the most amazing thing in the world to accomplish and experience.

I am always asked ;

“What keeps bringing you back to the Camino?”

Why don’t you hike elsewhere?”

There are a million places on the earth to hike and see nature. The Camino offers me a spirituality experience on top of the beauty of nature. There is also a “Human Kindness” experience that I don’t feel elsewhere. I am walking, sleeping in the same room, dining, laughing, and celebrating with strangers from all over the world and it works!

We are all equal, working towards the same goal, and sharing experiences. The Camino has shown me the true spirit of community. Stripping away all valuables and many meterial things shows me how basic human kindness, dignity, and respect for all can be achieved.

I try to bring that home with me but very once in a while I feel I need to Camino to reset myself and practice kindness.

I look forward to seeing my family and friends and I also look forward to seeing what changes this adventure will bring forward in my life.

Its time to relax, go to work to pay off this adventure, and move forward in my life!

I AM READY!

THANK YOU for following my journey! To those of you who left comments along the way, I want you to know I read them all and really appreciated them. They did keep me going when times seemed tough!

See You in Toronto!
