The Joys of Hiking!
We have been blessed with the most amazing weather so far on this trip. I can certainly say that the last few days have been different!
We have had threat of a conflict lot of rain for 2-3 days but found ourselves escaping all of it, until yesterday.

What a mess it was to hike in winds up to 100 Km per hour with pelting rain. I am not fond of hiking in the rain but this was far beyond rain. It
When we finished, I was so happy to dry off and put the day behind me. A true joy though was being able to still see how beautiful everything was in this horrendous storm!
We have gone from Porto to  Caldas de Reis  which is a total of 261.5 Km. That’s how far I have travelled thus far. I left Porto on May 26 and have taken a few rest days.
The Wet Hike!
The terrain may have been wet, but that didn’t take away from any of the beauty of the paths we hiked along. The green tones of the foliage were so vivid and rich in colour!
The Estate – Torre do Rio – My Hotel for 2 Nights
The Hotel Torre do Rio is situated in the town of Caldas de Reis, in Pontevedra, Galicia.

The Hotel Torre do Rio, offers just 10 charming rooms, stylishly decorated and above all very elegant, with impeccable service and attention to detail.
All rooms overlook the beautiful gardens surrounding the building.
The main dining room serves breakfast and the lounge features a cozy fireplace with comfortable sofas, where you can read and relax.
If you go out for a walk in the woods, you will notice that there is a wooden bridge that allows you to cross over to the other side, avoiding having to interrupt your romantic walk in the woods.
