Some Days, We Just Have to Laugh!
For those of you who follow me on Facebook or Instagram I apologize if this is a repeat . I do have friends following my blog that don’t follow either of the other two .
My Hotel Room: Smallest Ever!
On day one, I took a video of my room because I was laughing my head off at how small it was. It may have been small but it was exceptionally clean.
The toilet is right in front of the sink so you have to sit down to do everything. You have to actually sit on the toilet to brush you teeth and shave, because you can’t stand up in front of it. 😂😂😂
ROFL
I decided to watch tv in my room. Practice listening to Spanish. The Ancient tv didn’t work!
I had to call reception. I had the remote control in my hand and I said to her,
“Este televisor no funciona”.
The lady at reception grabbed the remote from me and said;
“ no, no, no!
no toques esto
esta roto”
Hmmm toques- Not a verb that jumps into my memory.
Then I realized that the rest of what she was saying to me was “is it is broken”.
Ahh … tocar – to touch- do not touch this because it’s broken!
I was working through in my head how to say “how do I work the TV ?” when she got down on her knees and pulled open the flap in the front of the TV and said
“ mira” ( look )
“ hace esto “ ( do this )
She started to push the buttons by hand to turn it on, and then she pushed the other button to manually turn the channel and increase the volume.
She finished the conversation and said
“ vale”?
I replied “ si, vale” (ok in English).
She smiled and left my room. I closed the door and broke out laughing. It turned out to be OK because when I was a kid we didn’t have remote controls and that’s what you had to do.
Ah, another part of my Spanish adventure!
Oh and that shower ? The hottest water I’ve ever had in Spain – likely due the short showers people have to take because a long one would kill you unless you are a contortionist.
Keep Laughing!
😂😂😂😂😂
KEEP WALKING!
Great stories, Dan. Thanks for the beautiful photos, the history lessons, and the humour!
Oh Heidi, it’s my pleasure. You can clearly see that I have fallen totally in love with Spain. I would feel most happy if everything I posted has inspired at least one or two people to visit this country and see the glorious stuff that I see.
