A GLORIOUS DAY CALLED FOR A GLORIOUS WALK!

What Season Are We In?

The first day of winter here in the Greater Toronto Area was AMAZING! The high temperature was 13 degrees Celsius ( 54.5 degrees Farenheit ). I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT IT IS DECEMBER 22 and it is this warm? Christmas Eve is supposed to be 14 degrees Celsius ( 57.5 degrees Farenheit ).

My Aussie friends need to know that we do not celebrate seasonal changes until the actual solstice occurs which was 11:59 pm on December 21st. I know you change the seasons on the 1st of the month].

For those of you not familiar with our Toronto winter weather, this is about 15-18 degrees (Celsius) warmer than usual. We had ice storms 2 years ago and last year we has lots of snow!  It is certainly well below freezing!

I decided to take full advantage of today’s weather. I quickly threw on my shoes on and went for a walk. I have been doing relief work in a school, so I have not walked once in 4 weeks and I HATE THAT!

Of course I can’t walk without my iPhone camera! I so enjoyed today. I took some cool photos. I just had the best 15 Km walk ( a short one today). I ran into some teachers from my old school and I chatted with them and their kids. I LOVED seeing them all today.

Oh those FAT Squirrels!

I did notice the MANY squirrels that were not in hibernation but rather eating everything in sight. THEY WERE FAT!!!!!  Somebody needs to tell them it is winter!

This was just a fabulous day for a walk! I will trek ahead again tomorrow!

MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY HOLIDAYS ALL!

KEEP WALKING!
